Mischief, magic and mighty young voices take centre stage as Memo Creative presents Matilda Jr, the much-loved musical based on Roald Dahl’s classic story. Bursting with heart, humour and imagination, this uplifting production celebrates bravery, friendship and the power of standing up for what’s right - all brought to life by a brilliant cast of young local performers.
This joyful, high-energy show arrives at the Memo in May 2026, and we can’t wait to share it with you! Expect an immersive experience with show-stopping songs, big characters, and plenty of surprises as our talented Memo Creative Minis and Youth cast bring Matilda’s extraordinary world to life.
🎭 About Memo Creative:
Memo Creative was founded in 2022 by Liam John and Ally Gibson with a simple but important vision: to build a welcoming, inclusive performing arts group that is accessible to everyone - no matter their age, background, or experience level.
To ensure cost is never a barrier, Memo Creative operates on a Pay-What-You-Can basis. While contributions are welcome, there is absolutely no expectation or requirement to pay, meaning every young person who wants to take part, can.
By removing financial barriers, Memo Creative empowers performers to learn, grow, collaborate, and shine - and American Idiot is the latest milestone in this bold community-driven mission ❤️
